CUTTLEBONE Installation/video - group exhibition Puglia 2019

Cuttlefish have one of the largest brain-to-body size ratios of all invertebrates and are known to change color rapidly to achieve a hypnotic effect to stun prey, which they then paralyse with venom before consuming. Cuttlefish possess an internal structure called the cuttlebone. This porous structure provide it with buoyancy, which the cuttlefish regulates by changing the gas-to-liquid ratio in the chambered cuttlebone. Each species' cuttlebone has a distinct shape, size, and particular pattern of ridges.

Innovators pioneered the ridged potato chip, which was first computer modelled and then 3-D printing technology was used to create optimal potato chip prototypes. The idea was to give consumers a more three-dimensional experience by making chips with a corrugation pattern, and it is now sold in more than 20 countries
