Born in Melbourne, Australia, Myvanwy Gibson began her career as a visual artist in 2017 after completing two Masters of Fine Art in Milan, Italy from 2012-2016 (firstly in Contemporary Art with a specialisation in Painting; and secondly in Visual Cultures and Curatorial Practices). Since then she has exhibited and presented papers internationally in Milan, Venice, Rome and Todi in Italy; and in New York, London, Vienna, Switzerland and Prague.
She was accepted to complete the practice-based research project 'The Language of Birds' at The Royal College
of Art, London in 2022 - receiving a Master of Research in Arts and Humanities in 2023 and subsequently in 2024 going on to a deeper specialisation in Performance Art at Central Saint Martins at the University of Arts, London.
Some important highlights are her papers and work being presented at the International Association of Empirical Aesthetics in New York and Vienna; her having been offered a Solo show of her paintings in Milan, Italy by the curatorial collective ‘Supergiovane’; and her invitation to be the first international artist to show at the Todi Open Doors exhibition held every year in Umbria, Italy.
Since living in London she has been invited to Audition for Marina Abramović’s Reperformances at the Royal Academy of Arts London, and her work Know Nature performed by Weaver was recently short listed by the London Art Collective for ArtEvol 2025 held at the Saatchi Gallery.

I propose that technology is a reflection of who we are, whilst it is nature that holds the knowledge of who we can become, and that these relationships, triadic in nature, aid in this becoming. Myvanwy Gibson
