THE TRANSFORMATIONAL ELEMENT
Fire is the transformer of organic to inorganic, conscious (alive) to not conscious (dead). As an analogy of alchemy of self (taking into account astrological philosophy that attributes human characteristics to elements) this conceptual work aims to explore the ‘consciousness’ of fire, and its symbolic representation of destruction, transformation and change - in effect death. An expression of the beauty and power of fire via explosions of fire onto canvas, and conversely endeavouring to contain ‘death’ via a wall of fire, or case of fire.
