My practice as a VJ from 2000 to 2007 consisted of creating visual loops from layers of still images which I programmed to work with certain sounds. Mixing these loops in real time at 25 frames per second while synched to sound, was in affect creating video in real time. I noticed while in practice that certain image and word combinations would be generated autonomously, as though there was an unconscious collaboration with the technology I was using. This then became my aim - to not design the work as such but to allow the computer equal partnership in the development of it.
