The technology of nature series is an exploration of the technological, the human hand and nature - the works in this series enquire into how technological phenomena mimics the physics of nature via a combination of painting, photography and material elements.
In the third series part of the series, two seemingly unrelated stills from the video: are printed large scale on canvas. In the installation these elements are superimposed so that the form of the natural element continues on from the painted, manmade gesture - there is a separation but also a flow. Exhibited as an installation alongside the original video.

The argonauts (genus Argonauta, the only extant genus in the family Argonautidae) are a group of pelagic octopuses. Also called paper nautiluses, referring to the paper-thin eggcase that females secrete, an evolutionary innovation unique to the genus Argonauta. It is used as a brood chamber and for trapped surface air to maintain buoyancy.
