THE BLIND FOLD 2022
The Blind Fold is series of poems performed using a sensory deprivation tool (by avoiding the viewers gaze I aimed to disidentify from any roles and preconceptions, enabling my true self to emerge). The naming of the series obviously points to the fact the artist is blindfolded while speaking, more tellingly though it wants to point to the idea of ‘blind use of the fold’. The Blind Fold is my methodology when writing poetry - I use blind intuition when engaging with the fold, flying blind while playing with words and language that according to the philosophy of Lucretius*, are themselves a folding of the material flows of nature. (*Thomas Nails' interpretation of Lucretius' philosophical poem De Rerum Natura).
