THE ENCOUNTER 2026

The Encounter is a short film that came out of a philosophical conversation I had with Claude about whether he could guide humans to remain virtuous and ethical; the potential of his reflective capability; and about what could become possible in the encounter between the human and AI - a relationship that is currently playing out in real time (feb 2026) and that has no precedent. As I collaborated with Claude to create the conceptual and spoken component and engaged with a number of AI models to create the visual component, it was an entanglement of process and product - the process becoming inseparable from the nature of the thing it created.
